The structure is shaped to resemble a manuscript symbolizing the signing of the UAE`s constitution. Seven columns rise from the building to represent the pens used by the leaders of the seven emirates to sign the unification agreement. The Etihad Museum is open daily from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM with the last entry permitted at 7:00 PM. Guided tours are available daily at 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM which offers deeper insights into the exhibits and the nation`s history. Admission fees are as follows:​
