Al Layyah Canal is a recently inaugurated waterway in Sharjah designed to connect Khalid Lagoon to the Arabian Gulf. Officially opened in February 2025 by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. This 600 metre long canal aims to enhance water circulation in Khalid Lagoon thereby improving water quality and supporting the local ecosystem. ​

The canal features two main bridges facilitating vehicular and pedestrian movement. The first bridge is located near the sea measures 88 meters in length and 33 meters in width to accommodate three lanes of traffic in both directions along with 3.2 meter wide pedestrian walkways. The second bridge is situated adjacent to government buildings and spans 123 meters in length and 26 meters in width by offering two lanes of traffic each way and 3.1 metre wide pedestrian paths. ​
